According to a notification issued by the School Education Department Punjab, some time ago, to improve the education system and reduce the burden of some important issues in the education system, several government schools were handed over to the District Education Authority, but now due to some operational difficulties, the government has decided to take these schools back under its control. Reasons for taking back possession,

The Punjab School Education Department has sought an immediate report of the schools returned due to some important operational issues. The Punjab government is now taking back the schools for the same reasons for which they were given for improvement, which could not be resolved by the Education Authority, but other such issues were arising, so the government has decided to take these issues back under its control to take control.


Main reasons

1. Funds and budget issue


The DEA and NGOs did not get the full amount of money they needed to run the schools. There was a shortage of funds for paying electricity bills, repairing the building, books, furniture, etc.


2. Teachers and staff issue

The DEA had the authority to recruit, transfer and promote staff, but it was not matching the Punjab level policy.  Many schools did not have enough teachers, teacher shortage is a very important and serious issue.


3. Performance and result issue

Of the schools that were given for improvement, the matriculation/inter results of many of them started falling further. Parents also complained that the education has already deteriorated, the progress in the results of the children is very weak,

The School Education Department (SED) Government of Punjab has issued an urgent directive to the District Education Authority (DEA) Jhang regarding the schools that have been returned to SED due to operational constraints.

In, an official letter to the Chief Executive Officer of DEA Jhang, the department has directed to submit a full performance report within seven days.

The letter issued by Muhammad Nadeem, Section Officer (Reforms), emphasized that this matter should be treated as a top priority. As it is a matter of education issues of Pakistan, and a matter of stability of Pakistan which is very important to resolve in time,

Schools returned to School Education Department due to operational Problems. This shows that some schools which were earlier handed over to district authorities are now being taken back under the direct control of the provincial School Education Department due to administrative and operational challenges. This is a very important and good decision of the government, which is an important step to improve the stability of Pakistan.
